About the role:
The Advonet Group, a dynamic and growing organization working with marginalized individuals to amplify their voices and uphold their rights, is offering an exciting opportunity within the Autism AIM services. Our projects are dedicated to principles of advocacy and how these can support the members of the autistic population, who face a myriad of barriers and inequalities. The AIM service is recognized for its innovative, progressive, and pioneering approach to supporting autistic adults who have little or no funded support.
We are seeking an AIM Coordinator for Mental Health Projects, who will be integral to the coordination and delivery of training programs and audits of physical spaces to ensure they meet the needs of autistic individuals.
This role involves:
Coordinating and co-delivering training sessions to advocates, social prescribers, and third sector Mental Health staff across West Yorkshire.
Liaising with third sector organizations to ensure audits of physical spaces are smoothly executed.
Collaborating with project deputies to adapt training based on participant feedback.
Collecting and analysing feedback to continuously improve training content and delivery.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized individual with relevant experience in similar roles, though there is ample opportunity to develop existing skills within the position.
About us:
The Advonet Group values and respects the diversity of backgrounds, experiences and knowledge that staff, volunteers and job applicants bring. All our staff undertake mandatory training on both Equality and Diversity and LGBTQ+ Awareness to increase awareness and understanding of discrimination both in and out of the workplace, with a view to reduce the impact this has on our colleagues and the wider community. This creates a workplace where staff feel comfortable to be themselves and empowers them, and our service users, to use their unique experiences to inform their work.
“I feel I have grown as a person working for Advonet. I work with such a diverse group of people who are happy to support and help you to grow” - Staff satisfaction survey, (2020)
Reasonable adjustments can be requested if you are successful in gaining an interview. We will inform all applicants whether they are successful in gaining an interview or not.
We are a Disability Confident Employer and particularly welcome applicants from those who have a lived experience of autism or other disabilities or come from diverse communities.
Benefits of working with us:
- Up to 31 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
- Access to a cashback health plan and Employee Support scheme
- Free parking near the city centre
- Flexible and remote working
- Welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment
