Chef Job Description:
Are you a culinary wizard with a passion for quality food and exceptional customer service? As our Chef, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our café's culinary offerings and contributing to our community-focused mission. From leading food preparation and menu development to collaborating with local suppliers and maintaining high standards of hygiene, you'll be instrumental in creating a memorable dining experience for our valued customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on food preparation, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.
• Develop, enhance, and deliver a menu featuring nutritious and wholesome dishes.
• Collaborate with local suppliers to align the café's offerings with the diverse needs of the community.
• Design a menu featuring seasonal dishes that prioritise health, affordability, and quality.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness at all times, adhering to Health and Safety, food hygiene, and statutory requirements.

Main Duties:

• Deliver high-quality food and drink offerings, providing exceptional service to the local community.
• Lead on cooking food to order and baking delicious pastries and cakes.
• Support in ordering ingredients and setting up suppliers where needed.
• Design an interesting and simple menu that meets the needs of the community and promotes healthy choices.
• Prepare a range of drinks, including barista coffee, and support other staff in training to do so.
• Adhere to stock rotation guidelines and maintain accurate stock inventories.
• Ensure compliance with nutrition and sanitation regulations, food safety standards, and best practices.
• Maintain equipment and cookware inventory, ensuring quality and functionality.
• Provide warm, welcoming, and responsive customer care to all café customers and community visitors.
• Operate an electronic point-of-sale (POS) system and handle financial transactions.
