Key Job Responsibilities
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and Health and Safety guidelines.
- Ensure and maintain that the cleanliness of Kennels and Cattery is to the highest standard including cleaning and disinfecting animal accommodation, drains, exercise areas, food preparation areas, laundry, and outside areas.
- Ensure positive welfare for each animal through play, enrichment, exercise, and socialisation. Taking note of toileting habits/ behaviour and reporting back to Team Leader.
- Observing animals to identify signs of injury or illness and reporting concerns to the team leader immediately.
- Ensure water is clean and always topped up.
- Paying attention to dogs/cats eating habits, reporting any concerns to the Team Leader.
- Report any faulty or damaged equipment to the Team Leader.
- Bed down dogs for the night, ensuring they are comfy with clean and dry blankets.
- Completing kennel maintenance jobs to a high standard e.g. cleaning windows, tiles, removing bird poo, lifting, and cleaning drains etc.
- Assisting in the grooming room bathing and drying boarding dogs to a high standard.
- Taking part in outside/offsite country walks with the dogs.
- All individual employees have a duty of care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions.
- Ensuring good customer relations and interactions.
- Treating all animals as if they were your own.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £7.50-£11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 42 per week
