About the role

As an API Gateway Developer, you will develop new API on the Apigee Edge platform and play a crucial role crafting, developing, implementing and maintaining API solutions using Apigee Edge. Your main responsibility will be to ensure seamless integration and communication between different systems, applications and services. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams, architects and partners to build robust scalable API solutions that meets the business needs, aligns with standard process and most meaningfully meets the needs of the customer.

You will be responsible for
  • Design, develop, and implement secure RESTful APIs using Apigee Edge, ensuring consistency to industry standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with solution architects and development teams to build scalable and secure API solutions
  • Write reusable, testable and efficient code in line with standard processes
  • Configure and customise Apigee Edge policies, proxies, and components to meet specific project requirements.
  • Implement security measures and authentication mechanisms to protect APIs and ensure data integrity
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate APIs seamlessly into various applications and services
  • Fix and resolve integration issues to ensure smooth communication between different systems
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions to supervise API performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimise system efficiency
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and implement optimisations to improve the overall API ecosystem
  • Build comprehensive documentation for APIs, including specifications, usage guidelines, and fix procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation to facilitate collaboration among development teams and partners
  • Work closely with Developers, Architects, QA, and business partners
  • Communicate effectively to understand business requirements and collaboration with partners throughout SDLC
You will need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Demonstrable experience in crafting and developing APIs using Apigee Edge
  • Solid understanding of API design principles, RESTful architectures, and web services
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java
  • Experience with API security, authentication, and authorisation mechanisms
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) desirable
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Proved expertise in crafting DynamoDB tables for scalability and efficiency
  • Experienced in crafting, implementing and optimising SOAP services handling sophisticated data structures and integrating SOAP with other technologies
  • Demonstrates expertise in optimising HTTP performance, implementing caching strategies and understanding sophisticated HTTP features
