The Application Analyst's role is to ensure an optimal system availability for his internal client(s)'s applications and to coordinate projects to improve the quality of services.
Description of the department:
Primarily responsible for supporting applications within the Trading and Security Financing department and the Core Equities business. This will include support for Global One (and SFTC soon), the Simcorp Dimension platform and modules used by all Front office & Trading departments. This role will involve direct interaction with Fund Managers, Traders and Financial analysts.
Application perimeter:
- Security Financing: Global One, SFTC (Vendor is FIS ex Sungard) and inhouse developed applications
- Core Equities business: Factset, Bloomberg Port and inhouse developed applications
- Answer, evaluate and prioritize incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, teams and in-person requests. Log and track issues in logging tools
- Study and propose solutions as required. Identify and suggest workarounds when relevant.
- Implement relevant steps to prevent re-occurrence.
- Liaise with Technology squads (Product Owners and Product Managers) to implement long term solutions.
- Undertake daily operational checks Morning Checks, investigating and resolving any problems identified.
- Communicate with the users on system/module availability using the standard templates
- Ensure compliance with all information security policies and participate actively to test campaigns
- Implement and operate regular end user activity monitoring
- Monitor Application Analyst activities and proactively suggest solutions to reduce risks, incidents and manual interventions.
- Collaborate with third party vendors as required, in accordance with agreed standards and procedures
- Participate actively on the yearly upgrade of external tools and on any patch release (qualification, regression tests, etc...)
- Analyze existing processes
- Contribute to business requirements gathering and write user stories
- Contribute to the testing phase for new versions and/or new tools
- Participation to Security Financing squad Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Demo, Retro and Daily)
- Communicate with the users on future evolutions using the standard templates
- Provide training to clients when processes change or new functionality becomes available
- Produce and maintain user and functional procedure guides
SHARE your unique experience:
Technical skills:
- Minimum 3 years' experience, preferably within the Asset Management industry
- Relevant industry qualification or degree
- Experience in the financial industry, ideally in asset management, Equities, Fixed Income
- Ability to research and implement procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate problems
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements and their practical application
- Strong organizational skills
- Previous experience of work in an Agile environment (Scrum / Kanban)
- Good communication skills, both oral and in writing, with the ability to work across different jurisdictions and with stakeholders across different parts of the firm
- Good language skills in English. French language skills would be a plus.
