Decontamination Nurse Apprenticeship Vacancy
Denbigh House, a local Island Dentist that happens to be one of the oldest in the UK, are looking to give an enthusiastic individual the opportunity of a career in the Dentistry industry. Within this role you would be joining their friendly, growing team and undertaking the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship in the role of a Decontamination Nurse. You will be learning about the industry as a whole, where Denbigh House stands within this industry as well as all of the responsibilities of a Decontamination Nurse.
Upon completion of this Apprenticeship position, the successful candidate may be offered the chance to complete the Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprenticeship and continue their development within the industry.
This is an ideal opportunity for a school leaver looking to start the first steps of their working career or for someone looking to retrain and start a fresh career in a brand new sector.
What’s Involved/Duties:
The following are the core responsibilities of this job role. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
- Taking responsibility for the decontamination and sterilisation of dental instruments and equipment
- Ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and guidelines
- Conducting regular maintenance and performance checks of decontamination equipment
- Maintain accurate records of sterilisation processes
- Collaborate with the dental team to promote a safe and sterile environment
- Warmly greet patients
- Guide patients through the patient journey
- Give the appropriate information to the patient
Desired Qualifications:
GCSE Pass Grades (4 and above/C and above) are desirable.

Training Provided:
The successful candidate will be working towards the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship.
Candidates will need to have achieved Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent Grades A-C (9-4) or Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English before completing the qualification.
Off the job training will be provided, where you will have the time to complete your portfolio work, attend off job training seminars and have allocated time for mentoring and being shadowed.
Expected Apprenticeship Duration:
16 months.
