Apprentice Fabrication Technician

As part of the Flexible Pipe Systems offshore team based in Newcastle UK you will be joining an established business and team with expertise in Flexible pipe design and manufacturing, Project Engineering and installation. This unique combination allows our customers to increase production and asset integrity whilst reducing the overall costs associated with a pipeline system.

As a Fabrication Apprentice, you will learn the below:


  • Completing a NVQ Level 3 standard in Fabrication and Welding over a 4-year period. You will also have day release to attend college to complete a BTEC and Higher BTEC qualifications.

  • Performing and delivering Fabrication and Welding operations.

  • Developing skills in the use of general hand tools and measuring equipment.

  • Learning quality assurance activities.

  • Learning Multi Coded Welding processes.

  • Forming / cutting various metallic materials.

  • Burning using Oxy-Fuel / Plasma processes.

  • Operating Fabrication machinery and equipment.

  • Working at Height.

  • Maintenance and Inspection of Baker Hughes equipment and Reel Fleet using various non-destructive Inspection techniques.

  • Produce drawings using CAD.

  • Have a minimum of 3 GCSE qualifications (Grade 4-6) to include Maths, English and a Science subject.

  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
