This apprenticeship opportunity at Johnson Controls offers a comprehensive and immersive learning experience in the field of BMS Engineering. Here's a breakdown of the key aspects:

• Specialize in Building Management Systems: As part of the BMS team, you'll deliver projects for industrial, commercial, and residential markets, which exposes you to diverse projects and environments.
• Deliver projects from the beginning to the very end of its lifecycle.
• Issue all documentation to the relevant parties and obtain approval from the Client or their representative.
• Consultation Focus: Our team is primarily focused on consulting with clients to enhance their buildings, reduce running costs and emissions, and improve overall performance.
• Comprehensive Knowledge: You'll gain a solid understanding of the main areas our systems interact with, including HVAC controls, Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Services Systems.
• Guidance and Mentorship: Your mentor will guide you in fundamental BMS engineering principles, teaching you innovative methods to lower energy costs, reduce emissions, and improve building efficiency.
• Technical Role: As an apprentice, you'll create detailed project plans and for various systems, ensuring compliance with industry and legislative standards.
• Diverse Project Environments: Our team works on BMS systems in various environments such as warehouses, manufacturing plants, retail spaces, commercial offices, and schools. This exposure enhances your understanding of different BMS applications and challenges.
• Client Interaction and Site Visits: You'll get the opportunity to visit client sites with colleagues to conduct surveys and gather information, aiding in the development of comprehensive projects tailored to specific client needs.
• Education and Training: You'll be enrolled full-time in a "Level 3 project controls technician qualification”. This program combines on-the-job work experience with college education, providing a comprehensive learning experience. Continuous support from our training team and experienced Project Managers ensures your development throughout the program.

Training and Qualifications:

• You will be enrolled on a level Level 3 project controls technician qualification.
• Travel and Accommodation: If you're required to stay away from home for college or work-related purposes, the company will cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and meals. This ensures that you can focus on your education and training without financial burden.

Career Progression:

• Upon completion, a number of internal engineering opportunities within the company will be available to you. All of our apprentices immediately move into full time permanent positions.
• Additional level 4 qualifications will also be made available upon completion of the level 3 apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required:

• GCSE or equivalent in English (Grade 5)
• GCSE or equivalent in Math’s (Grade 5)
Full Driving License is desirable.

What happens next?

• Suitable candidates will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position and provide necessary documentation. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment center in May, assessment centers typically include a combination of activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, and presentations.
• Within 48 hours of the assessment center, candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can begin the apprenticeship on September 2, 2024.
