An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Apprenticeships Unit at Manchester Metropolitan University as an Apprenticeship Development Advisor. You will be part of a fast growing, highly motivated, proactive team of industry professionals engaging with a wide range of employers, apprentices and academic colleagues. You will act as the point of contact for employers, initiating and developing relationships with new businesses in order to meet university degree apprenticeship recruitment targets in line with the University's Road to 2030 and the Apprenticeships Strategy.
Typically, you will:
- Support new apprenticeship curriculum development, applying knowledge of relevant sectors to develop new propositions which generate profitable business, supporting curriculum development and advising academic teams.
- Contribute to the recruitment of new employers and apprentices.
- Initiate, develop and maintain a personal client management relationship with employer partners to sustain engagement, facilitate collection of documentation and generate new business opportunities.
- Manage a portfolio of employer relationships with partners across our suite of programmes ensuring effective relationships are developed and sustained, gathering and acting on feedback and setting up appropriate communications and reporting structures to suit their needs.
- Support relevant Employer Advisory Boards, establising systems with academic and other teams for responding to employers' and apprentices'
- Identify opportunities and support on bid and tender writing for the development of commercial and grant income, including local and national government funding options in order to achieve financial targets.
- Lead on management of events and meetings, and host visits for key external and internal Apprenticeship stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the University from academic and professional services teams, advising and supporting as required.
The ideal candidate:
- Experience of successful business development and client management including selling, negotiation, bid writing, costing and pricing, tendering and securing external income.
- Experience of supporting the development of new curriculum offers in HE
- Experience of engaging a wide range of business clients from large businesses to SMEs
- Up-to-date knowledge of national and regional policies and strategies that relate to degree apprenticeships
- Experience of developing positive and successful relationships with employers
- Have a clean driving licence, be able to drive and also travel by public transport when required
