Area Sales Executive

Area Sales Executive needed in the construction sector.

I’m currently working with a market-leading company who have 100 years’ experience supplying a trusted product range across the UK and Europe, with a £50m global turnover.

We’re looking for a driven Area Sales Executive who has a successful track record of external business-to-business sales in the construction sector, ideally with an understanding of builders’ merchants, agricultural merchants, DIY retailers, or garden centres. This role will play a key part in the business’s retention-focused commercial strategy, ensuring a mature customer base is proactively engaged and developed whilst new opportunities are converted.

Salary: £35k base salary + uncapped monthly paid commission + annual bonus (£5k OTE) + company car.

Location: Southern patch (focused on Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire with occasional travel to the Southwest).

Duration: Permanent.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively manage existing accounts whilst converting new accounts / re-opening dormant accounts.
• Presenting products to clients, understanding their needs, and providing timely customised proposals.
• Negotiate effectively to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Building strong relationships with key decision makers.
• Responding quickly to customer enquiries.
• Work in conjunction with the Sales Director to deliver upon the company’s commercial strategy across your region.
• Ensure excellent customer service is delivered.
• Regular travel as required to manage a large geographical territory of accounts.
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and professional character with internal and external partners.

• Managing the company’s sales records in a CRM system.
• Conducting market research and analysis to identify industry trends and potential growth areas.
• Keeping up to date with industry developments, attending trade shows, and networking events.
