PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To generate new business within your area/region, working closely with other colleagues in the Sales Team. To support and maintain the existing customer base, retaining and growing their business with us, ensuring all contractual requirements are adhered to.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Sales, Customer Support and Business Development
- Identify new opportunities within existing customers, or new customers, within Cumbria, advising the customers/prospects on the most appropriate solutions.
- Support and manage customer / prospect meetings and site visits, working closely with other relevant stakeholders across the business
- Lead negotiations on pricing and terms with prospects / customers

- Support the integration and mobilisation of new business
- Manage a number of key accounts for your area and oversee the management of the smaller accounts, ensure a good-great customer experience is always delivered by the team
- Understand any Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and / or KPIs that are in place for any of your accounts, managing them effectively to deliver
- Support with the pricing and issuing of quotations in a timely manner, meeting (and managing) customer expectations
- Conduct regular sales forecasts, write reports and analyse relevant business data for regular presentation to the Head of Sales
- Understand the needs and expectations of new/existing customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet (or exceed) these
- Create proposals, bids, presentations, tenders and customer contracts, ensuring they meet Company standards for brand consistency
- Identify ways to continually improve financial performance through profitable sales growth, productivity gains and efficiency improvements
- Have an excellent understanding of our products and services, and be confident advising about them
- Build strong, trusting relationships with prospects / customers - managing the relationships proactively, growing customer loyalty/satisfaction and improving brand perception
- Communicate new product / service developments or offerings, to colleagues and prospective / existing customers
- Plan and execute sales meetings for the Sales team to help provide feedback and sales insights for your area
- Actively keep up to date with new regulation/legislation that may impact on our business, considering the implementation / impact on our business and our colleagues and customers
- Work closely with, influence and build strong relationships with business leaders, line managers and other stakeholders across the company, influencing and being a known subject-matter specialist
- Support with the training and development of new colleagues into the Sales team, as required
- Adhere to relevant GDPR legislation when working with customer data and information

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential: Experience in a Sales / Business Development role, with evidence of regularly meeting and exceeding sales targets and objectives
Proven business and commercial acumen
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc.)
Full driving licence
Desirable: IOSHH Working Safely (or equivalent certification)
A degree in business administration, marketing, or another related field
