An Independent Special Secondary School located just outside Andover, Hampshire. Following the National Curriculum and supporting students to achieve outcomes equivalent to mainstream education. The school has received a ‘good’ rating and operates as a 38-week residential special school for young people aged 11-19 with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions (typically high functioning and/or associated disorders).
Job Role: As the English Teacher, you will take the lead for English and Literacy across the entire school. Your responsibilities will include developing individualized/small group programs, with class sizes of no more than 7 students. You’ll work closely with dedicated TA support and be part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Candidate Profile: We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher with the following qualifications and attributes:
- Good knowledge of the English National Curriculum
- Experience teaching up to GCSE level (Delivering KS3-4 English)
- Understanding of the Autistic Spectrum Condition and/or experience working with children/young people with additional needs
- Proactive approach to developing and leading Literacy through the school
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

- Successful candidates will work across Education, Care, and Therapeutic services, supporting individuals with additional and complex care needs, including Autism and associated difficulties.
