We are partnering with a growing SME Property Services firm to recruit an Assistant accountant. The company is a relaxed environment with a high performing team. They are offering a huge benefits package and study support as well as one day working from home.
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping and general finance function. All aspects of accounts receivable and accounts payable, providing finance heads and business leads with financial data as part of the month-end process, as well as on an ad-hoc basis.
Key Responsibilities:
·Sage Intacct book-keeping and controls, including journals and expense and balance sheet reconciliations.
·Assisting with month-end, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, profit/loss and ledger reviews.
·Ownership of Accounts Receivable - monitoring AR inbox and releasing invoices from the CRM system.
·Ownership of Accounts Payable - monitoring AP inbox, processing invoices, reconciling statements, bank postings and bi-weekly payment runs.
·Assisting with the completion of VAT returns.
·Daily bank postings ensuring cash is applied accurately and resolving queries where appropriate.
·Staff expense and credit card management.
·Supporting the end of year audit.
·Any other ad-hoc finance duties.
·Production of any other financial information required by the business.
Key skills:
·Qualified or part qualified studying towards an accountancy qualification - (eg ACCA / CIMA).
·Strong experience of bookkeeping up to trial balance including excellent knowledge of raising and processing nominal ledger journals.
·Strong experience of finance systems is essential - Sage Intacct is desirable.
·Experience with CRM systems is desirable.
·A good understanding of VAT.
·Thorough practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
·Comfortable conversing with non-finance executives.
