Assistant Accountant

Gleeson Recruitment Group are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to start immediately for our prestigious client based in Dudley.

This is a temporary position with a potential permanent position to assist in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of monthly management accounts.

The Assistant accountant will also provide support to other members of the Finance team including but not exclusively the Management Accountants and Financial Accountants.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts to strict reporting deadlines.
• Managing and streamlining recharge process
• Reviewing that invoicing is completed accurately and in accordance with the terms.
• Responsible for completing calculations by liaison with Managers
• Produce monthly profit and loss account and variance report with commentary for the Financial Accountant.
• Review operational income and expenditure and post journals as required to ensure accuracy of monthly reporting is maintained to a high standard.

Other Duties:

• Identify opportunities to improve cost management
• Reporting of expenditure - agreement with the Financial Accountant
• Working closely with the Management admin team to manage mitigation costs
• Ad hoc duties as and when required.

Person Specification

• Excellent Communication and presentation skills.
• Highly numerate and analytical with the ability to gather, manipulate and present large quantities of data effectively.
• Ability to liaise and communicate with senior management and people from a non-finance background.
• Be well-organised, with strong organisational skills and able to develop and monitor plans to consistently meet agreed deadlines.
• Should be commercially aware with the ability to challenge costs on all levels.
• "Can do" approach with strong initiative and drive.
• Willingness to challenge and critically analyse information.
• Proficient in Excel with ability to do VLOOKUP's, SUMIFs, pivot tables with ease.

Qualifications / Training

• Studying AAT/Interested in studying towards finance qualification.
• Available to start W/C 22nd January or sooner.

This role is available on a temporary to permanent basis, you must be available to start asap.
