Job description

Finance Assistant

  • Location: Windsor
  • Job Type: Full-time (dynamic working after probation)

Join our rapidly expanding, market-leading care home group as a Finance Assistant. This role is crucial in supporting the Group Finance Manager and Senior Management Accountant with weekly and monthly activities to ensure our books are accurate and up-to-date. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated finance team and contribute to the success of our care homes.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Prepare Trial Balances (TB) for assigned entities.
  • Assist with accounting for property and management entities.
  • Analyse financials and post month-end journals.
  • Review issues and overspends at home level.
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, fixed assets register, and full balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Provide general accounts support and handle ad hoc requests.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of resident invoices.
  • Regularly reconcile invoices between CoolCare & Sage.
  • Review cash book and receipts and prepare weekly Flash Reporting.
  • Review invoice postings for correct coding.
  • Review allocation of payments and update cash books.
  • Prepare bi-monthly and ad hoc payment runs.
  • Handle corporate card reconciliations and journal posting.
  • Administer payroll, verify and submit payroll information.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll queries or information requests.
  • Process payroll and relevant journals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting in a multiple entity company
  • Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Sage.
  • Experience with payroll administration.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
