Form of workNXTGEN is delighted to be working with one of the biggest names within their sector in the county, to help find the next member of their close-knit finance team, a Assistant Accountant for anywhere between 3 and 6 months. This role is based in Ipswich but works on a very flexible hybrid working basis as this client knows how important having a healthy work/life balance is. There is endless opportunity to join the business on a full-time basis, perhaps in a different area to this role. Or even for this role to become permanent itself. As Assistant Accountant, you will be reporting directly into the Senior Operations Accountant, but also working closely with various member of the SLT within the business, in a very varied and interesting role. A breakdown of some of the key responsibilities is listed below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Supporting year-end accounting
- Preparing, developing & analysing current financial information to assist with decision making
- Development of budgets & forecasts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide variance analysis to all reports
- Any other finance related duties as and when required
The ideal candidate for this role is somebody with experience with general management accounts preparation, basic journal entries and plenty of balance sheet reconciliations. You will have a senior member of the team to support you in this role but due to the nature of a short term contract, there isn't much time for training and getting up to speed. Qualifications are not an issue for this, but experience is key for a successful application in this case.
