One to One Personnel is proud to be working with our global brand client who is looking to hire an Assistant Accountant based at their offices in Southend.

To be considered for this role you would ideally be AAT fully qualified (or actively/currently studying Level 3 or 4) or part qualified in ACCA or CIMA, have a minimum of 2 years experience including supervising Credit Control and in financial accounting. Experience in SAGE, advanced knowledge in spreadsheets and ERP software is preferred.

Role and Responsibilities

Sales Ledger

• Managing sales ledger and timely collection of debts for two entities in UK and Germany
• Evaluating new credit requests, checking the customer credit rating on Creditsafe and applying for Credit insurance (if required)
• Setting up new customers/reviewing and regularly monitoring credit limits
• Ensure customers pay on time and chase any overdue invoices
• Negotiating repayment plans
• Initiating legal procedures if debts are still not paid following initial action
• Preparing/sending customer statements by e-mail
• Liaison with colleagues in operations, customer service and sales on Credit Control matters
• Creating weekly debtors reports for directors
• Preparing monthly commission reports for sales agents

General Ledger

• Processing purchase ledger Invoices on SAGE 200 and ensuring Invoices tie up with purchase orders/GRNs
• Bank reconciliations for all currencies (GBP/EUR/USD)
• Uploading Invoices/credit notes on the DATEV portal for GmbH companies
• Assisting with month-end processing/reconciliations
• Ad-hoc reporting and tasks as assigned by management accountant

Stock Control

• Review periodical stock reports, age of stock and product costings
• Participation in physical verification of stock
