Assistant Accountant (Paddock Wood)
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our clients finance team as an Assistant Accountant in Paddock Wood. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our accounting operations, with a focus on maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with the preparation of financial statements.
Assistant Accountant Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
- Support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Reconcile bank statements and calculate tax payments and returns.
- Issue financial statements and assist with budget preparation.
- Support audit and tax filings by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and participate in financial data entry.
- Analyse financial information and summarise financial status by collecting data, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Assistant Accountant Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or relevant role in accounting.
- Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
- Excellent organiational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Relevant certification (e.g., AAT) or working towards an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.
