Assistant Accountant

Grafton Banks Finance are working with a growing, locally well-known Commercial business with offices in Polegate, East Sussex to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a full-time permanent basis. With study support on offer and Hybrid working, this job opportunity will report into the Financial Controller and work in a friendly finance team to support with the smooth running of the company's day to day finances and assist with month end management accounts. Duties and Responsibilities will include: Assist in preparation of management accounts (income statement & balance sheet). Intercompany reconciliations. Sales and purchases analysis. Process staff expenses and prepare monthly expense submission schedule and journal. Liaising with and preparing audit evidence for statutory audit. Preparation of VAT returns. Completion and submission of monthly surveys. Cover as required for other finance team colleagues. Support the finance colleagues. Ad hoc tasks as required. The successful candidate will hold the following to be considered for this job opportunity: Previous working finance experience. Experience with Accounting software packages including Excel. Strong Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail. High level of numeracy. Can-do and motivated attitude. Effective time/organisation management.
