Kennedypearce is partnering with a leading Investment Business based in the West End that is looking for an Assistant Accountant/ Junior Fund Accountant to join their team. This is a 1 year contract with the review to extend paying £250-300 a day umbrella. This is a hybrid role.
Please note that experience working with the accounting software Investran is a MUST.
As a Junior Fund Accountant, your expected tasks and responsibilities include (and are not limited to): Bookkeeping, Financial control, and reporting
- Taking ownership in preparing timely and accurate quarterly and annual fund reporting for the designated managed funds including investor reporting
- Maintaining financial control over the underlying general ledgers and performing all other accounting related tasks across multiple entities within managed funds (covering UK, French and Luxembourg incorporated entities);
- Recording and reconciling specific asset principal and investment income activity in line with detailed revenue recognition policies;
- Ensuring that all financial information is prepared on an accurate and timely basis. Also ensuring the ongoing integrity and completeness of the underlying financial systems and data;
- Assisting in the preparation and delivery of annual statutory financial statements in accordance with the appropriate GAAP and supporting the team for Year End Audits
- Preparing tax reporting documentation from underlying fund data;
- Responding to periodic and ad-hoc tax and investor reporting queries from external LPs and co-investors.
Requirements
- Finalist or Newly qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA;
- At least 2-3 years Accounting relevant working experience in a private equity or private debt fund institution is essential;
- Experience with Investran is must.
- Experience as Fund Accountant for entities within a limited partnership fund structure is necessary;
- Strong IT skills (MS Office), in particularly Excel;
- Experience with WSO and/or Loan IQ is beneficial;
- Excellent language skills in English; other languages, especially French would be beneficial;
- Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail and high degree of quality;
- Proactive communication and good organization skills to priorities workload and keep key stakeholders informed;
- Ability to work accurately and productively under pressure and tight deadlines;
- Self-motivated, team player with an independent working style.
