Chase & Holland are excited to be working closely with a very successful and ever-growing company based in Rotherham. They are looking for an Assistant Accountant on a temp to perm basis to come in ASAP and assist in what is a varied role. As the Assistant Accountant you will assist with the day-to-day functions of Finance and associated processes as well as being a proactive number two to the Finance Manager. You will need to be comfortable using Excel and have experience or strong knowledge of Credit Control, Purchase Ledger and key financial reconciliations. You will need to be someone who can look at data and understand the numbers, understand if something doesn’t look correct and suggest an solution
Assistant Accountant Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation of supplier accounts to statements on a rolling quarterly basis
- Monitoring / Recording of daily banking activity for Invoice Financing and Business Bank accounts.
- Collate data for year end, on a quarterly basis, including providing assistance in the reconciliation of nominal accounts
- Bank reconciliations – assist with and eventually take ownership of the process
- Processing expenses and petty cash
- Prep of Management accounts
- Assist with Fixed Assets
- Processing and posting of credit card statements
- Assisting with month end accounts preparation – updating key reporting schedules as directed by the Finance Manager
- VAT Returns including Reconciliation
- Support the Finance Manager and Store Managers in ensuring the accurate recording of stock
- Experience of Microsoft Excel this includes at least Vlookups , Sumifs , Pivot Tables etc
- Strong communication skills and able to build relationships
- Experience of working on accounts software, preferable ERP based system
