We are looking to recruit an experienced administrator to the team. The Business Support Team provides administrative assistance to the region, localities and the Senior Management Team, acting as the first point of contact for internal and external queries, as well as regional support to the services.
The Assistant Business Support Officer role is both varied and rewarding with the following responsibilities:-
- Using a wide variety of IT applications to create and maintain regional documents such as newsletters, organisational charts and to collate information from services using Excel for example spreadsheets
- Minute taking, meeting preparation and circulating of agendas and minutes
- Answer calls to the regional office number and to answer emails received into the South East Children's Service mailbox. All calls should be handled applying sensitive listening skills
- Support services with managing premises, including Health & Safety and facilities management
- Provide confidential administrative and project support to the Regional Director and Locality Assistant Directors of Children's Service's (and equivalent)
- Network with regional service admins, supporting and signposting for additional support
- Administrative support to the Business Support team
We are therefore looking for someone with the ability to work collaboratively to share information within and across Barnardo's to contribute to the effective delivery of Barnardo's services. Building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit, commitment to the team and achievement of shared goals. The key skills required are:-
- Proven office administration skills
- Extensive experience with IT packages such as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to give good attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Excellent team working skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Good numeracy skills
The role will be predominantly working from home ideally based with the South East of England, with the expectation to travel when required for business need.
