ASSISTANT BUYER OPPOTUNITY IN WATFORD!
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £30k - £35k per annum.
We are seeking a meticulous and driven Assistant Buyer with Advanced Excel skills to support our procurement team. The role involves sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services, with a strong emphasis on utilizing Excel for data analysis, reporting, and process optimization. The successful candidate will ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products at the best possible value.
Day to Day of the role:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery speed.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favourable pricing and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
- Raise purchase orders and expedite deliveries to meet lead-times and maintain supply continuity.
- Achieve product cost targets and manage inventory levels to support customer requirements while preventing excess stock.
- Suggest new products in line with corporate focus and strategy.
- Work with the Finance team to resolve invoice discrepancies and request credit notes for short deliveries.
- Set up new products, including creating product codes, allocating barcodes, and ensuring all relevant certifications are obtained.
- Develop and maintain procurement templates, tools, and workflows in Excel.
- Cross-check Goods Received Notes (GRN) against purchase orders prior to booking in stock.
- Generate and compile quarterly reports.
- Book outbound customer deliveries as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with procurement software and Sage systems is a plus.
