At Naim Audio we offer our staff & visitors a free canteen. We provide breakfast, lunch & afternoon tea, consisting of homemade & seasonal produce.
As the Assistant Chef, the main duties involve baking, salad and other food preparation for the various lunch shifts, washing up in accordance with the company break time requirements, and complying with the law in relation to Food Hygiene, Health & Safety & other polices set out by the business. You will be required to work 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 3.30pm. A flexible approach is essential as you may be required, occasionally, to work outside of normal hours to achieve organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote good customer and staff relations.
- Achieve and maintain high standards of cleanliness & presentation.
- Ensure that all duties are completed in the time provided to a high standard.
- In the absence of the Catering Manager, you will be required to lead in the canteen and undertake duties such as food ordering, menu writing, budgeting & training any temporary staff due to work in the canteen.
- Assist the Catering Manager in ensuring the on-site canteen is suitably stocked and all reasonable dietary requirements of the staff are considered.
- Keep up with trends and seasonal ingredients, using fresh produce.
- Assist with the delivery of internal or external catering/hospitality events as required, including set up, stewarding and breakdown.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
- Excellent communication and customer care skills, with a customer-centred approach to service delivery.
- Good teamwork skills.
- Basic IT skills.
- Awareness of relevant legislation; Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Allergen Awareness.
- Self-motivated, committed and enthusiastic with the ability to work under pressure.
- A flexible attitude to business requirements and duties.
- Up to date Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake training.
