The Courtauld works to advance how we see and understand the visual arts, as an internationally-renowned centre for the teaching, research of art history and a major public gallery. Founded in 1932, the organisation has been at the forefront of the study of art ever since.
The Courtauld cares for one of the greatest art collections in the UK, displayed at The Courtauld Gallery in Somerset House, central London. Academically, The Courtauld is a specialist university and home to the largest community of art historians and conservators in the UK. It offers a range of degree programmes in the History of Art, curating and the conservation of easel and wall paintings.
We are seeking an Assistant Commercial and Visitor Engagement Manager to be the leader of the friendly faces of The Courtauld Gallery. Bringing your personality and creativity to The Courtauld, you'll greet each and every visitor with a friendly and warm welcome, and manage the wider Commercial and Visitor Engagement team. You'll work flexibly, collegiately, and with good humour across both the Retail and Gallery admissions areas. And in everything you do, you'll aim for the highest possible standards of visitor care.
Applicants will need:
- Experience of managing or supervising a team of front of house staff.
- Experience of working within a retail or customer services role.
- Experience of creating and managing staff rosters
- Experience of using a ticketing or retail system, and trouble shooting problems
- Experience of being a key-holder or equivalent level of responsibility
- A strong understanding of what excellent customer service is, and how to deliver it
- Excellent communications skills
