The Opportunity
Due to projects ramping up, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Assistant Cost engineer to join a leading supplier to the nuclear industry. The role
As an Assistant Cost Engineer, you’ll have a unique role, that allows you the opportunity to become part of a leading nuclear services company, where you will support the costs portfolio for high priority infrastructure upgrade projects. Where you will ensure to play a critical role in ensuring that our projects are completed successfully, on time, and within budget, whilst implementing best practices.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 1 - 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 - 4 days working from home.
Your duties and responsibilities will be

• Day to day, you’ll secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes, as well as managing projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
• You’ll collaborate with stakeholders granting you great exposure to the wider business and various opportunities across.
• Responsible for the co-ordination and collation of all project cost data for the joint venture.
• Responsible for producing the joint venture Revenue and Cost Reports.
• Provide forward looking trends and variance analysis information identifying expected project cost performance and comparisons against applicable project performance targets.
• Facilitates re-forecasting exercises with the Project Team to ensure accurate forecasting.
• Ensuring cost reporting alignment with the Project WBS.
• Assist with Monthly Billing.
• Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. You will have the following qualifications and experience

• Essential experience of the Assistant Cost Engineer:
• Experienced in Cost Engineering.
• Sound knowledge of recognised project management and controls principles including Earned Value Management
• Good knowledge of the uses of commercial scheduling and estimating software
• Stakeholder engagement
• NEC Contract experience (desirable)
• University degree or equivalent.
• Security Clearance.
• The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
