A Tier 1 Contractor are recruiting for an Assistant Design Manager to join their Midlands business. The role will be site based, but you may be required to attend the office during tender and pre-construction stages of projects.
Reporting to a Senior Design Manager, you will assist with the overall design process from tender stage through to completion of projects.
Assistant Design Manager role:
- Assist the Senior/Design Manager to prepare scope of works documents and scope mark-ups
- Assist the Senior/Design Manager to develop the design programme
- Value engineering
- Design verification processes
- Design co-ordination
- Design team meetings and workshops
- Document control relating to the design
- Assist in the preparation of monthly report / Client reports
- Assembling and archiving of handover information at project completion
- Input, produce and implement the project Design Management forms, following the company guidelines and procedures
- Ensure the scope of services for incorporation into each consultant/subcontractor appointment/order meet the project requirements
- Work alongside the commercial team during procurement, interrogating subcontractor quotes for compliance
- Manage design co-ordination process through design workshops and collaborative working with the designers
Experience required:
- Minimum of two years' experience in design
- Competent user of all MS packages Inc. Excel/Word and Design software
- Evidence of professional studies (e.g. HNC / HND minimum).
- CSCS card
- Excellent communication (written / verbal)
- Good presentation skills, with attention to detail
- Organisational skills and good time management
