It's a busy and exciting time for the brand and we’re on the hunt for an Assistant Designer to join our growing Design team on the 915 department.
The Team
Design is where it all starts. The dynamic creative hub that sets the vision and inspiration behind the product. Delivering the overarching trends in fashion and culture that inspires the whole business.
Designing key items that drive the buy and ways to wear that lead the wider channels. We create and design the trends key items, and palettes and work closely with the buying, merch, and supplier teams to deliver the product that our customers love and give them that New Look feeling they crave. No two days are the same and we thrive in a fast-paced environment. We love having a laugh while we do it and look out for each other.
The Role
We are looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Designer to join us and be an integral part of our tea on the 915 area.
With a finger on the pulse of the latest trends at all times, this individual will be eager to bring forward new ideas and really get stuck in.
Putting the New Look customer at the heart of everything you do, you will be responsible for assisting the wider team in developing a must have range!
- Researching the latest product, colour and fabric trends with an eye for new details.
- Assisting the Designers in the creation of new product concepts in line with current trends and the New Look brand direction.
- Identifying and delivering trend packs, catwalk overviews, sourcing packs and range plans.
- A good eye for print, colour, and shape.
- Completing and reporting back on New Look store visits and competitor shopping across retail and e-com.
- Working with the wider design team to collaborate on new ideas and possible opportunities within the business.
- Organizing and creating filing systems for all research, fabric, sketches, and packs.
- Assisting in creating tech packs for factories with a thorough approach to avoid mistakes.
- Assisting in sketching new shapes and reviewing with Designers.
- Having a positive attitude and ability to keep up with a fast-paced environment.
- Able to take constructive feedback, to learn and grow with the business.
- Willingness to take on new responsibilities and ownership through additional ambassador roles.
- Good knowledge of adobe packages including photoshop, illustrator and InDesign
- High level of illustrator sketching ability. Knowledge of filling sketches with print and colour.
- Ability to translate fashion trends into commercial product opportunities
- Knowledge of spec’ing/measuring garments for development and technical packs.

- Ability to initiate, build and maintain relationships with Design, Buying, and Suppliers
- Solid presentation skills
- Good time management willing to go the extra mile
- Previous experience as a Design Admin Assistant / Assistant Designer within a fashion company/ department within New Look
- Fashion Design Qualification ideally at degree level in print or relevant experience.
