AddressWhat you will be doing
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, the Assistant Financial Accountant will gain experience bringing accounts to the trial balance stage, reconciling control accounts, and taking responsibility for the aspects of the general ledger which are under their control. In addition, the Assistant Financial Accountant may assist with payments, indirect and direct taxation, and reporting, whilst also preparing data and narrative for various monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports concerning all aspects of the business. In doing so, the Assistant Financial Accountant will work together with finance colleagues, as well as colleagues from other departments, and provide a flexible approach that increases their exposure to finance practices and maximises their learning experience.

- You will be competent in month end procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.
- You will be able to use your initiative to resolve reconciliation issues and discrepancies.
- You will be organised and quick to prioritise your work as needed.
- You will enjoy working as part of a busy team and be keen to take on new tasks as team roles rotate.
- You will be happy to work closely with external auditors and provide them with support and assistance where necessary.
- You will have good communication skills and be able to naturally build positive relationships.
- You will be competent in identifying better and smarter ways of doing things and question the value in tasks you are set.
Essential Skills and Qualifications to be successful:
- Graduate in a relevant subject or qualified to at least AAT level 4.
- Minimum of 3 A Levels Grade C+ (or equivalent) in relevant subjects.
- Experience in bringing accounts to the trial balance stage and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Previous experience working with a Finance role (2+ years)
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Working towards further accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc.)
- Gained exposure to Financial Accounting (1+ years)
- SAP experience
