Assistant Greenkeeper
Ilford Golf Club seeks to appoint an enthusiastic Assistant Greenkeeper to join our existing Greenkeeping Staff. The successful candidate will join our forward thinking, friendly Club. On a daily basis, you will contribute to the maintenance and development of the golf course and surrounding area as directed by the Course Manager. The successful applicant should be able to:
- Cut all playing surfaces to a high a presentable standard, including tees, greens, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi rough.
- Set up the golf course in accordance with the Rules of Golf, including changing holes, moving tee markers, indicating O.O.B, Drop zones and hazards.
- Switch and brush greens, apply top dressing and fertilizer, identify and control pests and diseases and renovate worn and damaged turf
- An understanding and mindset towards Health & Safety In addition to the above, you should have: • A Full Driving Licence
- An ability to work well in a team and the ability to use your initiative when needed.
- Good time management.
- Spraying and Chainsaw licences. PA1, PA2 & PA6 are desirable – These qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- A few years greenkeeping experience is essential. Probationary Period: There will be a probationary period of three months. Hours of Work: Your hours of work will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Weekend working will be required on a rotational basis. What we can offer:
