You would be joining the EMEA subsidiary of the business with offices in 19 cities and over 1500 employees. They have faced significant growth over the past 20 years since opening in 2003 and don't show any signs of slowing down as they continue to crack into new financial spaces beyond commercial banking.
Job Description
Your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Support the Bank on legal advice in relation to a broad range of regulatory matters including MIFID/EMIR, GDPR, cross border licensing, competition, investigations, and litigation.
- To support the Bank in EMEA on projects which have regulatory issues.
- Assist to investigate any identified potential or actual breach of relevant rules and regulations and advise on the legal implications.
- Give legal advice to members of the wider group if requested, including the international Head Office in relation to matters of English law and regulations, and review/ draft documentation for overseas offices where governed by English law
- Assist in the delivery of training, know-how, and guidance notes relating to a broad range of financial services regulatory issues.
- Reviewing and drafting bank wide standard documentation and other miscellaneous documents with respect to relevant regulatory issues where required
- To deal on a proactive basis with questions of a legal nature which arise throughout EMEA Region as a result of the Bank's customer relationships, regulatory obligations, and corporate governance.
- Proactively contribute to the development of the Bank and actively work to eliminate legal risk.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will be a junior lawyer (NQ - 4 PQE) with experience in financial services regulatory matters including MIFID/EMIR, GDPR, cross-border licensing, and more. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months experience in a reputable law firm.
