Assistant Psychologist

We are looking for two motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologists to join Ealing Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT), based at St Bernards Hospital. The Assistants Psychologist posts are also part of the Psychological Service for Acute Mental Health Services which includes the two mental health inpatient units and three CATT services in the Trust.
The post will be based in Ealing CATT, the team are a mental health service in the community working with adult service users who are experiencing a mental health crisis or need intensive home based treatment. The team’s aim is to provide intensive support at the point of crisis to prevent the service user being admitted to hospital. Service users in CATT present with enduring mental health needs (psychosis, trauma, bipolar mood and depression) and complex emotional needs. Service users may also present with significant risk concerns to themselves, others, from others.
The role will provide an opportunity to work as integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team along with providing psychological interventions under supervision of the qualified psychological practitioner/psychologist in the team.

The postholder will have the opportunity to:
Develop skills in assessment, formulation and intervention in an acute care setting.
Attend and participate in handovers and MDT meetings.
Contribute to service development.
Be involved in developing psychological formulations with the team.
Receive training/teaching in trauma informed care and contribute to this being embedded into practice.
The post-holder will receive guidance and supervision from the qualified psychological practitioner/psychologist in the team.
