We have an opportunity available for an Assistant Site Manager to join our team based in Northwich. The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week and the hours are worked Monday to Friday on a shift pattern to be agreed with the successful applicant between 6.30 am and 6.00 pm. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £26,097 - £28,549 per annum.
About the Assistant Site Manager role:

The successful candidate will join an experienced department contributing to leadership of the team and to the caretaking, security and maintenance services at the College. You will undertake a variety of duties including ensuring the site is well maintained, health and safety checks are up to date, buildings are secure and assisting the Site Manager with projects across the estate.
The department comprises of a Site Manager, three full time Caretakers, a part time Assistant Caretaker, a team of cleaners and two Sports Facilities staff.
Please be aware that the job will entail manual handling and will require a degree of physical stamina. The successful candidate will be required to achieve and maintain competency in a number of work-related areas including first aid, fire safety and other related health and safety training which will be required for the role.
Some additional hours and/or shift changes will be required to accommodate planned college events, and holiday cover within the department, including Sports Facilities. Such changes are agreed in advance with the Site Manager
Your responsibilities as our Assistant Site Manager:
- To undertake and document regular health and safety and other routine checks as required
- To contribute to Health and Safety compliance including COSHH and risk assessments
- To oversee First Aid provision
- Assist with ensuring mandatory health and safety training has been completed including setting up users on the Safe Smart programme
- To be responsible for contractors while on site, ensuring work is completed to the required standard and coordinating projects as required
- To deputise for the Site Manager in the operation and management of systems including heating, lighting, security (including CCTV) and fire safety
- To supervise the cleaning and caretaking teams with the Cleaning Supervisor as required
- To contribute to the estates cover rota during periods of holiday and sickness including sports facilities
- Attend College as a 'key holder' as may be required by the Police, Intruder Alarm Company etc. and take action to re-secure building(s) as necessary
- To lead on Estates projects as directed by the Site Manager
- Undertake site security patrols as directed by the Site Manager
- To contribute to the caretaking provision at the College to include:
- locking and unlocking of areas of the College
- preparation of areas used throughout the college day, evenings and weekends. This may include the setting up and putting away of equipment/furniture required by College users, as specified by the Site Manager
- assisting with minor repairs to buildings and fixtures
- to assist with traffic control duties as required
- to undertake duties of a First-Aider, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, for which training and refresher training will be given
- to provide caretaking and security cover for out-of-hours use of the College buildings and site
- maintaining the cleanliness of the site, particularly in relation to litter
- to act as Fire Warden when on duty and to undertake checks of fire fighting equipment and of fire alarms and emergency lights
What we’re looking for in our ideal Assistant Site Manager:
- PAT Testing qualification
- Trained in manual handling
- Qualified First aider
- Qualified Fire Warden
- Previous experience in a similar post
