Assistant Waste Stream Team Leader
Salary – £27,417.00 to £35,481 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – 40 hours per week

The Assistant Waste Stream Team Leader is responsible for their own Health & Safety and that of those in the Day Operations Team, along with contractors and visitors to site. You will be responsible for overseeing the Day Operations team, to ensure employees co-operate with the company to enable it to discharge its own responsibilities successfully and ensure that a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping is established and maintained across the facility.
You will ensure the team work safely, compliantly and effectively in line with the Company procedures, ensuring the efficient operation of all inputs to and outputs from the Greatmoor EfW plant (this includes but is not restricted to the weighbridge, main tipping hall, ash handling plant and consumables offloading area at the Greatmoor EFW plant.)
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week, however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

1.Health & Safety
•Provide leadership and direction to the Day Opertions team to ensure that all activities within the Greatmoor tipping hall area are carried out in a safe manner in line with FCC Safety Policy and all Health & Safety statutory requirements.
•Ensure that the co-ordination of all vehicle movements within the tipping hall area are carried out in a safe manner and according to FCC safety procedures.
•Ensure the safe co-ordination of all vehicle movements which are delivering or collecting materials and/or products at site that enter via the weighbridge gate.
•Carry out risk assessments to ensure relevant activities are completed in a safe manner at all times.
2.Environmental
•Responsible for ensuring and minimising environmental impacts within the tipping hall area, i.e. odour, dust, noise and vehicle pollutants.
•Ensure regular environmental monitoring checks are carried out in and around the tipping hall area and outside areas of the site within the boundary ensuring compliance with the Environment Permit at all times.
•Record and report any impacts or potential impacts on the environment to the Day Operations Manager.
3.Team working
•Manage the team with the focus on motivation of and development of peoples values.
•Lead, contribute and maintain the team effort ethos, encouraging team spirit and provide assistance to all team members as required.
•Take a leading role in the development and training of all team members.
•Promote and deliver the FCC Environment company values and lead by example.
•Take a lead role within the team regarding the decision making processes.
4.Key Activities
As the Assistant Waste Stream Team Leader you will be responsible for the following:
•Managing the Day Operations team including the planning of staff training and development.
•Carry out off-site inspections and audits of all Greatmoor Waste Stream supply facilities in accordance with Duty of Care regulations, FCC Company policy and the requirements of Buckinghamshire County Council
•Hold our Waste Stream suppliers responsible for breaches in the Duty of care regulations, FCC Company policy and all of FCC’s contractual obligations.
•Materials ‘In’ management, ensuring that Waste Streams to Greatmoor are available and co-ordinated to achieve our Monthly / Yearly waste budgets.
•Ensure the weighbridge is operated in accordance with Duty of Care regulations, FCC Company policy and all of FCC’s contractual obligations..
