Corporate Finance
The Houlihan Lokey Corporate Finance business has extensive expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, activist shareholder and takeover defense, and other related advisory services for a broad range of clients. In addition, we have the proven ability to engineer and execute financing solutions that are essential for growth and success and offer access to financing in the public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities.
In EMEA, we work with a wide spectrum of companies, from mid-market privately owned enterprises to large multinational organizations. With a growing EMEA platform with nearly 400 Corporate Finance bankers in offices across the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Sweden, Spain, Israel, the Netherlands and Dubai we have the breadth and targeted expertise to provide exceptional client service.
Capital Markets & Equity Private Placements
Our Capital Markets Group operates within the Corporate Finance business and is one of the firm's fastest growing practices. Within Capital Markets, Equity Private Placements is a product area in which Houlihan Lokey has a best-in-class track record and market reputation globally.
Following new senior hires in EMEA, the Equity Private Placements team is experience rapid growth. We advise some of the most ambitious private companies on the origination and structuring of private equity capital, including primary & secondary fundraisings, hybrid and structured equity. We operate across multiple EMEA geographies, in a range of industries supporting both high-growth disruptors and established market leaders. To meet the growing demand for our expertise and services, we are seeking to hire ambitious people who want to work on the frontier of a fast-evolving space in the financial landscape.
Scope
The Equity Private Placement team at Houlihan Lokey is looking to add an Associate in London. They will work directly with senior bankers and clients on landmark transactions across EMEA, and be a trusted member of the team. We believe this is an excellent opportunity to unlock substantial personal growth. People who join the team will develop valuable expertise in a fast-growing capital market segment, and build relationships both across Houlihan Lokey and in the wider market.

Requirements
• Strong academic track record and achieved a 2:1 or equivalent degree
• 3-5 years of experience within Private Capital Markets, Debt Advisory, Equity Capital Markets, Structured/Project Finance, or other similar roles within an Investment Bank or Advisory firm
• Buy-side experience advantageous
• Fundamental understanding of financial valuation methodologies, and applications
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical abilities; strong LBO and DCF modelling skills coupled with a strong knowledge of Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential
• A flair for simply communicating complex ideas and stories with data is highly advantageous
• Experience supporting and managing Analyst colleagues is advantageous
• Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
• Understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations
• Strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multitask is crucial
• Motivated and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
