Associate Director - Major Gifts Fundraiser
Ref: DH40044
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £45,585-£57,696
This role is based in central Cambridge. We practise a hybrid working model and the successful candidate will be expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days a week.
As a result of internal promotion, the Development and Alumni Relations office at Cambridge University is currently seeking a new fundraiser to support the School of Physical Sciences.
The School is one of six Schools into which the academic work of the University is organised. It covers Astronomy, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Geography, Materials Science and Metallurgy, Mathematics and Physics. The various departments are consistently ranked among the best in the world for their subjects, in teaching, research and impact.
Priorities for which the School seeks philanthropic support include academic posts, studentships, research programmes and extensive capital projects. These priorities relate to some of the most exciting, globally significant research and teaching activity taking place across the University. Fundraising potential is strong, with a clearly identified pool of alumni and non-alumni prospects capable of giving seven-figure gifts and above. Philanthropic gifts to the School in recent years have been transformational and include one eight-figure gift of £85m.
You will be working as part of the Schools team - we are a warm, supportive and fun team who look out for each other. You will find it a welcoming place to work!
You do not need a background in scientific fundraising for this position, we are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, skilled at building relationships that last and a team player. If this is you and you want to work where you can raise some of the biggest gifts of your career then we would love to hear from you.
