Client: Global consulting firm that provide design & project management solutions across the Building, Infrastructure, Energy, Environment, and other sectors.
Role: Experienced Mechanical Engineer required in a leading role for the M&E team (Associate or Associate Director level) - based in the Belfast office.
Description:
- Key leadership role for the Building Services team in Belfast.
- Projects will be across the public & private sectors - commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, education and leisure.
- Project Management - taking briefs from clients and ensuring programmes are followed.
- Team Management - managing and developing other engineers.
- Delivery of engineering design solutions.
- Responsible for both technical & commercial elements of projects.
- Developing designs from conceptual through to detailed design, controlling and maintaining the quality of work
- Undertaking calculations and verifying those of your team
- Preparation of technical reports, specifications and scope of services.
- Estimating cost budgets.
- Business development and contributing to bids & tenders.
- Occasional travel throughout Ireland and the UK.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
- Chartered Engineer status preferred.
- Previous design consultancy experience - ideally 15+ years.
- Strong project management skills - ability to deliver building services projects from concept through to handover.
- Ability to work efficiently with clients and manage expectations when necessary.
- Ability to develop strong connections with colleagues, external design consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Good commercial understanding of projects.
- Software - IES, Revit, Navisworks, MagiCAD.
- Familiar with cooling and heating loads, energy models and dynamic simulations.
- Previous experience of sustainability, energy conservation, and renewable energy is desired.
