Strategy and governance
1 Assist in the design and development of a financial strategy to support organisation’s strategic plan
2 Maintain an effective working relationship through Director of Support Services with the Finance, Audit and Risk Subcommittee, ensuring that the committee can scrutinise the organisations finances effectively
3 Advise the Director of Support Services and other senior staff about opportunities for cost reduction and surplus improvement
4 Provide an external interface with banks, auditors, insurers, pension funds, consultants, and charity finance specialists Audit
5 Take the lead role in developing close working relationships with the auditors and the bank and other external partners
6 Prepare organisations annual financial statements in time for external audit
7 Ensure all reconciliation of balance sheet accounts are completed on monthly basis Budgeting and Forecasting
8 Prepare the organisation’s annual budget
9 Provide 'business partnering’ service to all budget holders
10 Ensure that management accounts and forecasts are produced monthly
11 Monitor progress against budget with each budget holders and any flag any significant deviations to the Director of Support Services
12 Manage cash flow is effectively and report any potential cash flow crisis to the Director of Support Services
13 Provide analytical reports and accounts on any aspect of the charity activities and contribute to the overall financial appraisal of the organisation’s performance Grant Management
14 Ensure there is transparent accounting for restricted and unrestricted funds
15 Responsible for preparing and submitting donor reports on timely manner
16 Ensure accurate financial management of contracts, to maximise income
17 Provide support in contact negotiations as and when required
