The Associate Director ( Direct Procurement) will be responsible for a team of 4 and a direct spend of c£100million.
You will ideally have extensive category management experience from an engineering/manufacturing or life sciences/ diagnostics setting.
This will be a hybrid role, with offices in Oxfordshire. Package c£70k, generous bonus of between 30-40% and shares options

Role summary:
Provide Procurement and direct category management support and services to aid and improve operational performance and regulatory compliance across supply base. Develop category strategies across the team across risk, quality, speed and cost and aligning with company, industry and global changes.
Responsibilities:
Manage the procurement team and processes for direct products and service categories ensuring alignment with organisational policies and objectives.
Duties:
- Manage direct procurement team across various categories
- Contribute to developing processes to improve operational performance, driving change through the organisation.
- Manage procurement processes: sourcing processes, new product introduction and contracts management to ensure purchasing at the best price for products and services without sacrificing quality or delivery.
- Work with ESG and Risk team to identify, assess and manage risk and drive improvement to ESG across supply chains
- Monitors commodity trends and product availability.
- Supplier relationship and performance management across quality, delivery lead-time, delivery on-time, service and cost.
- Identifies and researches potential new suppliers.
- Research new products and services.
- Assesses total cost of ownership of supplier / category portfolio.
- Develop and implement strategies for procuring products or services to business requirements within regulatory frameworks.
- Improve supplier development and contractual performance and metrics across supply chains
- Develop stakeholder engagement with supplier business review process
- Develop, improve and maintain a supplier compliance framework in line with business policies and regulatory requirements.
