Job Description

Due to maternity leave, we are looking for an Associate Scientist to join the Conjugation Development Platform in our Cambridge headquarters. This is an exciting opportunity to explore and develop new conjugation tools and products used by Life Science and Diagnostic Companies.

 

The right candidate will be responsible for undertaking the planning and execution of a variety of conjugation projects, with a special focus on antibody-oligo labelling, to support and drive the expansion of new projects for the partnerships program within the Conjugation Development Platform.

Within this role, the candidate will be part of a small team of scientists and collaborating with other groups across the organisation such as Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, Program Management, Quality Assurance and Business Development.

The ideal candidate will have experience in antibody conjugation, problem-solving, analysis and reporting data to clients. The candidate will contribute to the bespoke design and development of antibody-oligo conjugation, with the opportunity to explore other labels and chemistries. The main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Antibody conjugation and purification.
  • Developing and improving workflows related to antibody conjugation, purification and characterisation.
  • Work autonomously and plan, analyse and critically evaluate experimental results, with attention to detail
  • Focused on achieving team goals, prioritize and troubleshoot to complete assignments successfully
  • Complete project tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Communicate experimental results effectively to the team, major stakeholders, and clients
  • Maintain excellent laboratory records
  • Draft and execute standard operating procedures
  • Contribute to colleague’s technical development within technical transfer whenever needed

Qualifications

You will have a PhD in a life sciences field or a MSc/BSc and can demonstrate a relevant level of experience in industry. You will have theoretical and practical expertise in bioconjugation and/or protein purification. FPLC Hands-on experience is essential and HPLC experience is an advantage.

You have great attention to detail and thrive on collaborating with other teams across the globe along with being able to multi-task and prioritise your work. You are experienced in liaising with stakeholders to anticipate and accommodate their needs and have excellent organisational skills to meet strict deadlines.
