Your mission

What you’ll do

  • Sterile isolation of serum, plasma, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), cell sorting and monocyte differentiation.
  • Develop, validate, and implement primary and co-culture screening assays in 2D and 3D systems using primary cells and cell lines.
  • Contribute to project progression through data generation using cell-based screening and profiling assays to support target validation, and MOA studies.
  • Play a key role in the strategy and the decision-making process to support target validation and appropriate data packages.
  • Expected to work independently liaising closely with colleagues within and across functional groups to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain clear and efficient communication, collate, interpret, and present results, and contribute to reports where applicable.

Your profile

What you’ll need


  • A BSC / MSc with experience in Biomedical sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related disciplines.
  • 2 years’ industry experience performing laboratory research in either a biotech/pharma or CRO environment or equivalent.
  • Excellent working experience in cell culture including PBMCs, primary cells and cell lines, and knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques such as ELISA and qPCR
  • Experience in at least one or more: primary cell isolation, monocyte differentiation, FACS cell sorting, biobanking, high content screening platforms.
  • Ability to work well within a team and have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as IT skills.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and able to pay close attention to detail, particularly with regards to record keeping.
  • Good time-management skills and ability to work to towards set deadlines.
Desirable but not essential
  • Experience in assay development and/or mammalian cell-based assays e.g. binding and blocking assays, reporter assays, signalling assays.
  • Familiarity with GCP and HTA guidelines.
