GSL Education are looking for an Attendance officer to work within schools setting in Chesterfield.
About the role
This role requires overseeing attendance across our four sites, ensuring that students are present and engaged in their education. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing school attendance and be comfortable conducting home visits.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage student attendance records across all four sites.
- Identify and address attendance issues promptly.
- Conduct home visits to follow up on absent students and engage with their families.
- Work closely with school staff, parents, and external agencies to improve student attendance.
- Prepare and maintain accurate attendance reports.
- Implement strategies to promote and improve attendance.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Attendance Officer or in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of attendance policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable with conducting home visits and engaging with families.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
