Form of workThe Role-Senior Audit and Accounts Senior
We are looking for a qualified Audit and Accounts Senior to work as part of our Audit and Accounts team. You will be involved in the delivery of statutory audits and preparing accounts for a portfolio of some of the most innovative and exciting clients across our region including limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders from a variety of sectors including education, retail, manufacturing, and charities.
Duties
- Preparation of accounts from a variety of client’s systems – Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, etc
- Audit of financial statements from planning to completion, including responsibility for managing the on-site audit team, where applicable
- Preparation of draft corporation tax computations
- Actioning queries raised by the accounts and tax managers on the draft accounts and tax computations
- Finalisation of the accounts and corporation tax computations following client meetings
- Providing training, guidance, and support to members of the team as required
- Attending clients’ premises predominantly across the North-East and Yorkshire depending on the location
The Person
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Experience of involvement in or leading on audits
- Proven experience of owner-managed small to medium-business accounts preparation including statutory financial statements
- Recent general practice background, with exposure to accounts, audit, and/or tax
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Proven experience of delivering excellent client service
- Be flexible and proactive in managing multiple priorities
- Have excellent communication skills and be confident speaking to clients face to face, over the telephone, and by email
- Must have excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Excel
- The ability to check work for accuracy and have good attention to detail
- Be able to demonstrate your initiative to solve problems
- The ability to travel to clients’ premises as required
Ideally
- Knowledge of accounting software packages such as Sage, QuickBooks, Online, Xero, and IRIS. Along with knowledge of clients’ specialist sectors and charities of the legal profession.
