Audit and Accounts Senior

Our client, an ambitious top 50 Central London based Accountancy, has an exciting role for an Audit and Accounts Senior to join their rapidly growing team.

Reporting either to a manager or directly to a Partner, you will either be solely responsible for the audit work including planning and completion, or responsible for leading a team of up to 3 on larger audits, including assisting juniors and reviewing their work.

As the Audit and Accounts Senior your key responsibilities will include:

• Processing audit journals and the preparation of the statutory accounts, including all notes and disclosures. User knowledge of both FRS102 and FRS an advantage
• Preparation of corporation tax returns including capital allowances computations.
• Assist in training junior staff and providing feedback
• Occasional ad hoc assistance in accounting assignments and bespoke assignments such as preparing cashflow forecasts or due diligence reports
• Directly liaising with clients

About You:

You will need to be ACA / ACCA qualified with previous audit experience within an accountancy practice and being up to date with current auditing and accounting issues and conversant with relevant auditing and accounting standards, company law and good tax knowledge, in particular corporation tax. An awareness of VAT and payroll taxes would be advantageous.

You will also require excellent Excel skills along with a working knowledge of CCH and Pro-audit would be an advantage. Experience or knowledge of the Mercia audit methodology would also be helpful.

The role is on a hybrid basis with a mixture of office and home working.
