Job Description
AVP - Consumer & Retail - Corporate Research
Reports directly to the Research Leader and is expected to assist in formulating the research strategy for a specific industry sector, specifically:
* Supporting the production of industry/corporate reports to help senior staff define the department's strategy with the goal of improving the long-term profitability of the bank.
* Supporting the bank's marketing efforts by identifying potential customers and aiding in the development of new products and services.
* Assisting in credit/financial modeling for corporate/project finance analysis, including extensive statistical/industry data gathering.
* Daily monitoring of news for sectors and companies under direct coverage.
* Supporting the monitoring of the bank's asset portfolio through watch list systems, contributing to monitored sectors (restricted exposure) analysis, and the monthly Credit Monitoring system.
The Successful Applicant
Financial Services
* Candidates should possess a degree (2.1 or above) from a top institution, and many staff members have additional qualifications in finance or related subjects.
* Knowledge of financial statement analysis, accounting/reporting standards, and financial modeling is expected.
* An understanding of Fast moving Consumer Goods and related industries gained through a financial or industrial background is highly advantageous, with the flexibility to cover a secondary industry when necessary due to workload demands.
* Basic familiarity with general commercial banking terminology and the banking business is advantageous.
* While foreign language proficiency is advantageous, it is not a strict prerequisite for the role
