London-based Fintech offers a B2B payment solution that exclusively partners with banks and financial institutions to provide a secure, efficient, and cost-effective payment infrastructure. They connect banks to merchants through a secure tokenisation payment process, using Open Banking rails and their own payment network, offering an alternative payment method to the traditional and expensive card schemes.
Our start-up is currently in the development phase and is not yet live. However, we are backed by significant funding and have a team of skilled founders and team members with many years of experience in the fintech space.
They are working diligently to bring their innovative solution to market and are confident in the potential for their product and services to disrupt the industry. Currently they are testing a proof of concept with a couple of clients and has several potential orders when the testing phase is over. This further highlights the level of interest and demand for their offering and demonstrates the potential for the start-up to gain traction in the market once it is launched.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our serverless payments architecture, ensuring secure and scalable processing of financial transactions. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate engineer to leverage their expertise in Golang, serverless technologies (like AWS Lambda), and Event Driven Architecture (EDA) to build mission-critical systems for the payments industry.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Golang and serverless technologies like AWS Lambda.
- Implement Event Driven Architecture (EDA) principles to build highly scalable and responsive payment processing systems.
- Integrate with various payment gateways and processors securely and efficiently.
- Ensure code adheres to secure coding practices and industry compliance standards like PCI-DSS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, security, DevSecOps) to deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot backend systems, identifying and resolving performance issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Golang, serverless technologies, and the payments industry.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong focus on serverless architecture.
- Proven experience using Golang for backend development.
- In-depth understanding of Event Driven Architecture (EDA) principles and their application in real-world scenarios.
- Experience with payment processing systems and integrations with payment gateways/processors.
- Solid understanding of secure coding practices and industry compliance standards like PCI-DSS.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies in the field.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and other AWS services.
- Experience with Kafka or other message queuing systems.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
