Job description

Job summary

Are you a compassionate, caring and considerate person? Are you looking for a sense of achievement in your job? Are you motivated by helping others? If yes, then our Team at Solihull Hospital want to hear from you.

Our Team is united in bringing quality care to the people and communities within Birmingham and Solihull. To do this; we need like-minded people who want to work with us to deliver the very best care to our patients.

Summer 2024 sees Solihull Hospital open six new theatres - these fantastic facilities have allowed us to create 5 new Band 4 Therapy Support worker opportunities.

Applicants will need to have comprehensive experience as a Band 3 OT/PT or generic Therapy Support worker. You will work collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and fellow Therapy Support workers across inpatient, outpatient and community settings supporting our patients in their rehabilitation and wellbeing.

Applicants must be prepared to participate in 7 day working rota and extended hours.

The Trust is a multi-site organisation, you may be required to work at any of the Trust sites and you may need to change your normal place of work, either temporarily or on a permanent basis as a result of development or reorganisation of Trust services.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The post will combine competencies from predominately physiotherapy and occupational disciplines. You will work with patients in the completion of screening assessments and follow referral criteria to ensure they have the correct equipment, that's its functional and ready for use. You will ensure our patients are supported in rehabilitative activities, exercises and risk assessment encouraging a 'keep moving approach'.

Your responsibilities will be varied and challenging - however, being able to multitask in an efficient manner whilst maintaining a caring and helpful attitude underpins everything we do to make a difference to your team and the patients.

The role will build on existing Band 3 skills to take on an increased level of responsibility. Working autonomously under the supervision of registered therapists for an agreed caseload, having excellent communication and organisational skills and being confident to make judgements unaided. You will be able to work proactively to problem solve and work on your own initiative.

As part of this invaluable Team, you will be a reliable and committed candidate who will help ensure we are continually adhering to our Trust values of Kind Connected and Bold. We are confident we can offer you not just your next job but your next career.

You can expect a starting salary of 25,147 rising to 27,596 along with a public sector pension, 27 days annual leave (rising with service and with the new option to buy and sell leave each year).
