Bar and Events Manager - Rough Trade Liverpool
Role: Bar and Events Manager
Location: Hanover Street, Liverpool, UK
Contract: Full-time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Competitive
We have an exciting opportunity available to join Rough Trade as the Bar and Events Manager of Rough Trade Liverpool, a brand new store opening on Hanover Street in the heart of the city. The store will operate across two floors, a record shop and café on the ground floor and a Bar and Events space on the first floor.
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our café, Bar and live events proposition including events operations and customer experience.

The successful candidate has the unique opportunity to drive the Bar and Events experience at one of the world's leading record shops, and one of the most exciting small venues in Liverpool.
The Bar and Events Manager reports jointly to the General Manager, Rough Trade Liverpool, and the UK Events and Partnerships Manager.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
Help maintain the calendar of live events in-store. Working closely with the UK Events and Partnerships Manager to ensure commercial opportunities are maximised
Lead the Bar and Events team in the day-to-day operation of the Bar and Events space
Stock control and inventory management
Work with the UK Bar Manager to drive profitability through the Café/Bar offering
Responsible for UK Licensing compliance, health & safety and record keeping in accordance with the law and Rough Trade operational standards
Cellar management, including line cleaning, tidiness, stock organisation & rotation.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Strong interpersonal skills
Exceptional planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
At least 12 months leadership experience at a fast-paced bar or live music venue
Knowledge of food/beverage and retail environments essential including knowledge of health and safety and licensing practices
People management experience with a proven history of growing and developing teams
Able to function as an enthusiastic and committed brand ambassador for Rough Trade when interacting with the artists that perform at our events
A keen understanding of who our customers are, and what they expect from the live event experience at Rough Trade
Experience working in a grass roots music venue preferred
The ideal candidate will be:
A forward planner who reacts well to ambiguity
Commercially driven and business savvy
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be over 18 and available to work flexible hours that may include a combination of early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and Bank Holidays.
Salary is dependent on experience and is based on a 37.5 hour work, 5 day work week between Monday to Sunday.
