About the role

West Suffolk Council is an innovative, supportive and ambitious organisation, and a great place to work. We set up Barley Homes (Group) Limited in March 2016 as the council's wholly owned housing company. The aim of the company is to deliver market and affordable housing developments which promote local place shaping and provide an income for the council to help support the delivery of services. Having successfully completed the first two sites and with an exciting development pipeline, the company is going from strength to strength, which presents a great opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic leader to help enable Barley Homes to fulfil its full potential. 

What you will need

As the Strategic Development Manager, you will be someone who understands the development process and can demonstrate how to use your skills and experience to deliver housing schemes ranging from small sites to large, multi-phased developments. You will be someone with excellent leadership and management skills, who is highly motivated, great with people and able to build strong relationships. 

You will be a chartered surveyor, planner or equivalent within the property development and planning sectors.
