As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a talented Bid Writer to join our team.
Job Description:
As a Bid Writer you will play a pivotal role in securing new business opportunities through the creation of compelling, accurate, and compliant bids and proposals. You will collaborate closely with our business development team, project managers, estimators, and subject matter experts to develop winning proposals that showcase our company's capabilities and value proposition.
Responsibilities:
- Researching and identifying relevant bid opportunities within the construction industry, including public and private sector projects, tenders, and requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Developing bid strategies and timelines to ensure timely submission of proposals.
- Writing, editing, and proofreading bid documents, including executive summaries, technical proposals, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with bid requirements, specifications, and evaluation criteria.
- Conducting competitive analysis to understand market trends, pricing strategies, and competitor offerings.
- Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and partners to gather necessary information and ensure alignment with bid requirements.
- Participating in bid review meetings to present proposals and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Maintaining bid library and knowledge repository to leverage past successes and best practices.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in bid writing and proposal development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in bid writing, proposal development, or technical writing within the construction industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and bid management software (e.g., Aconex, Procore, BidClerk).
- Knowledge of construction industry terminology, processes, and regulations.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Certification in proposal writing or bid management (e.g., APMP) is a plus.
